

A driver suffering a medical emergency crashed into a house, causing a gas leak in Cary Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The Cary Fire Department and Cary Police Department were called just before 11 a.m. to 104 High Road for a report of a car that struck a building.
Emergency crews found a white Ford Escape SUV that struck a home on the property of Windridge Funeral Home. A gas meter had been struck during the crash, causing a natural gas leak.


The surrounding area was closed off while Nicor crews worked to stop the leak. The road was re-opened two hours later.
The driver of the car suffered a medical emergency, which caused the crash, police said. They were transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
