An autopsy has not been performed yet by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. A GoFundMe, which has raised over $13,000 in less than 24 hours, was started by the man’s daughter to help with funeral costs.

“We know our dad has touched many lives weather it be from his funny antics or his passionate conversations about cars and airplanes he was always the brightest smile in the room,” Allison Popovich said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Algonquin Police Department. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 847-658-4531.
