At least two people were seriously injured and trapped in a crash Wednesday evening in Buffalo Grove.

Emergency crews responded around 5 p.m. to Milwaukee Avenue and Prague Avenue, just north of Lake Cook Road, in Buffalo Grove for a vehicle crash with people trapped.

There was a person trapped in each of the two vehicles involved in the crash, officials said. The two people trapped were extricated by firefighters.

One victim was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition and another was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with paramedics working CPR on the victim.

Two other people were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition. Authorities closed southbound Milwaukee Avenue for several hours until 9 p.m. while accident investigators worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known and police have not released any updated information yet.
