A serious vehicle crash outside of Hebron on Thanksgiving Day left five people trapped, including one that was critically injured.

The Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District responded around 2:45 p.m. Thursday to a report of a two-vehicle crash with multiple injuries near Alden Road and O’Brien Road in Alden Township.

The crash involved a crossover SUV and a Honda sedan.

Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District Chief Tom Linneman said that five people were extricated from the cars by firefighters.

One victim was flown to Mercy Rockford by a Mercyhealth REACT Medical Helicopter, one was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Huntley Hospital, two were transported by ambulance to Northwestern McHenry Hospital and one was transported by ambulance to Mercyhealth Hospital in Harvard.

Linneman said that the injuries ranged from minor to critical. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office has not released any information yet.
