A McHenry man is being held without bond after police found a pound and a half of marijuana at his home following a two-month investigation.

Edward M. Ramirez, 20, of the 3200 block of Cherry Avenue in McHenry, was arrested on Tuesday by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that the arrest came following a two-month investigation. Authorities began investigating after they received numerous citizen complaints about drug dealing at a home in the 3200 block of Cherry Avenue in McHenry and also in Island Lake.

A search warrant was executed at Ramirez’s home and detectives found 76 LSD tabs, a pound and a half of marijuana, less than a gram of cocaine, packaging materials, a scale and $500 in cash. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said the drugs have a street value of around $15,000.

Ramirez is being charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

He remains held without bond in the McHenry County Jail. Ramirez is scheduled to appear in court again on December 12.
