The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for four men who lured a Good Samaritan and robbed him in Volo Thursday evening.
Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that deputies responded at 6:10 p.m. Thursday to the 31600 block of North Fisher Road in Volo for an armed robbery.
The victim was driving southbound on Fisher Road just south of Route 120 when he was flagged down by a group of four Hispanic men standing next to what appeared to be a broken down vehicle, Covelli said.
The victim pulled over to try and help the men when one of them pointed a handgun at the victim and ordered him out of his vehicle. The four suspects, including one armed with a handgun and another with a knife, entered the victim’s vehicle and stole several items, Covelli said.
Officials said that the four Hispanic men were described only as wearing black hooded sweatshirts. They fled in a black newer model GMC pickup truck southbound from the scene towards Darrell Road.
“As a reminder, if you observe a broken-down vehicle, notify law-enforcement rather than pulling over to check on it yourself,” the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
The robbery remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities at 847-549-5200.
