Two men kicked out of a party in Beach Park Friday evening returned with a gun and opened fire, leaving one man injured, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Zion Police Department responded at 11:15 p.m. Friday to a home in the 12900 block of West Wakefield Drive in Beach Park for a report of shots fired.
Police found several shots were fired and a 21-year-old Beach Park man was shot. Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the homeowner was having a party when two men, who were not invited, showed up and were asked to leave.
The two men became belligerent and were escorted outside of the home but returned a short time later and began shooting at the home from the outside. One of the rounds struck the 21-year-old man, who was transported by ambulance to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
He has since been treated and released. Covelli said that the suspects are described as two male blacks, one of them was tall with an afro-style haircut wearing a red jacket, and the other had dreadlocks and was wearing a white sweatshirt.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 847-549-5200 or the Lake County CrimeStoppers at 847-662-2222.
