The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is actively investigating the death of 35-year-old Benson Saintil, who was found shot to death outside of a North Chicago home.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office said on Monday that Saintil, who was from North Chicago, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a preliminary autopsy.
The North Chicago Police Department and the North Chicago Fire Department was called around 8:05 a.m. Sunday to the 1700 block of Greenfield Avenue. A 911 caller reported that a man was found dead outside of a house.
Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Christopher Covelli said that paramedics pronounced Saintil dead at the scene.
The North Chicago Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to help investigate the death.
