The Lake County Major Crime Task Force was called to assist police investigate after a 35-year-old man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in North Chicago Sunday morning.

The North Chicago Police Department and the North Chicago Fire Department was called around 8:05 a.m. Sunday to the 1700 block of Greenfield Avenue. A 911 caller reported that a man was found dead outside of a house.

Police found the 35-year-old North Chicago man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Christopher Covelli said. Paramedics pronounced the man, who has not yet been publicly identified, dead at the scene.

The North Chicago Police Department requested theย Lake County Major Crime Task Force to help investigate the death. The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning.
