A man is facing numerous felonies after he allegedly asked a Round Lake Beach girl for nude photos and then blackmailed her once he had them, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Juan C. Castaneda-Adame, 20, of the 900 block of Evanston Street in Hoffman Estates, is facing felony charges of child pornography, grooming and intimidation.
Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that Castaneda-Adame asked the girl for nude photos and then once he had them he threatened to release them to other people.
Covelli said the girl is a minor but did not release her exact age.
A warrant was issued for Castaneda-Adame on April 2. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals arrested him three days later at his workplace in the 1200 block of West Central Road in Arlington Heights.
Covelli said that police took him into custody without incident. Castaneda-Adame remains held in the Lake County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 2.
