A Johnsburg man was arrested and another suspect is being sought after the duo allegedly lured a victim through an online sales app to a Subway in Lincolnshire where they tried robbing the person.
The Lincolnshire Police Department was called around 3:45 p.m. Thursday to a report of a fight in progress at the Subway, 185 Milwaukee Avenue.
Dispatchers received 911 calls reporting that several people were possibly fighting and one of them was armed with a handgun, Lincolnshire Police Commander Kimberly Covelli said.
Officers arrested Jorge A. Lopez-Castillo, 21, of the 3000 block of Weingard Road in Johnsburg. Police learned that Lopez-Castillo and another suspect reportedly lured a person to the scene using an online sales app and attempted to rob the person, Covelli said.
During the incident, several businesses and a school were briefly placed on a soft lockdown during the investigation.
A replica handgun was recovered at the scene. Police are still searching for the second suspect.
Lopez-Castillo was charged with aggravated robbery, a Class 1 felony, and battery, Class A misdemeanor. He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on a $75,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 2.
