Three men and a woman were charged in connection with a home invasion in Woodstock where they allegedly battered the victim and threatened to shoot him, according to police and court documents.

Donley Carey and Jimmy Carey were also charged with misdemeanor battery.
The Woodstock Police Department was called at 3:25 a.m. on April 7 to the 1900 block of Sheila Street for a report of a home invasion that just occurred. All four suspects had fled the scene before police arrived.
According to the criminal complaint filed in court, Donley Carey and Jimmy Carey allegedly kicked and hit the victim and Gardner threatened to shoot the victim during the incident.
Woodstock Police Chief John Lieb said that the suspects were all known to the victim and the incident was not a random act.
“Leads and information continued to be developed over the next couple of days, leading to the identification of four suspects in the incident,” Lieb said. Arrest warrants were then obtained.
Woodstock police, U.S. Marshals and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office took Varnado into custody at her residence in Woodstock on April 9. The three other suspects had fled McHenry County and were taken into custody in Racine, Wisconsin by the U.S. Marshals service.
