Update at 3 p.m.: Police that the boy had been located safe.

Police are asking the public’s help in finding a 3-year-old boy who went missing from his Buffalo Grove home after reportedly walking out the back door.

3-year-old Logan Lamer went missing from his home at 91 Manchester Drive in Buffalo Grove Friday afternoon, police said. The boy is described as a male white, approximately four-feet tall with blond curly hair.

He was last seen wearing a teal t-shirt and a diaper. Village of Buffalo Grove officials said that the boy is believed to have walked out the back door of his home, which is in a subdivision off Buffalo Grove Road north of Lake Cook Road.

As of 2:15 p.m., the boy had still not been located. Police department and fire department personnel along with emergency management agency crews are currently searching the area and conducting door-to-door searches.

Anyone who sees the boy is asked to call 911.
