The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a man with a butcher knife that tried robbing a convenience store in unincorporated McHenry.

Police responded to a call of an attempted armed robbery around 9 p.m. Thursday at Nezda’s Little Store, 502 West Ringwood Road in unincorporated McHenry.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that a man armed with a butcher knife entered the store and tried robbing it. No one was hurt during the incident.

The suspect was wearing a blue Purdue hoodie with a camo bandana wrapped around his face. He is around 5-foot-5 and was seen carrying a black book bag, authorities said.

“If you live in that area please check your security and Ring cameras to see if you caught this unknown man either on his way to the store or after he fled,” the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
