A Lakemoor man has been sentenced to six years in prison following a plea deal after he was found guilty of soliciting child pornography from a 14-year-old girl.
Thomas Zurawski, 27, of the 500 block of Santa Barbara Road in Lakemoor, was found guilty of solicitation of child pornography, a Class 1 felony, following a negotiated plea before Judge Michael Coppedge in which his other felony charges were dismissed.
In February, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified police in Rochester, Minnesota about Zurawski receiving nude images from a 14-year-old girl who lived in Minnesota.
The Lakemoor Police Department opened an investigation into Zurawski after they were notified by the Rochester Police Department.
Police interviewed Zurawski and he admitted to receiving the nude images and video from the underage girl. Zurawski will serve six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to the plea, McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick D. Kenneally said.
The case was investigation by members of the Lakemoor Police Department and prosecuted by Robert Ladd of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
