Four people were injured, including a 19-year-old who was seriously injured, after a single-vehicle crash in a neighborhood in Fox River Grove early Friday morning.

The Fox River Grove Police Department and Fox River Grove Fire Department responded around 2:45 a.m. Friday to a single car crash with injuries in the 700 block of Barberry Trail in Fox River Grove.

Fox River Grove Police Chief Eric Waitrovich said that a preliminary investigation showed that a 25-year-old Fox River Grove man was driving a Subaru sedan when he lost control of the vehicle.

The Subaru then crashed into a wooded embankment. A 19-year-old woman in the passenger seat was flown by a Flight For Life helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries, Waitrovich said.

The driver and two other passengers were transported by ambulance from the scene to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with minor injuries.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit was called to the scene to assist with the accident investigation, Waitrovich said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Fox River Grove Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
