Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 17-year-old Mundelein girl, who police say is endangered, after she was last seen at a friend’s home on Monday.

The Lake County Sheriffโ€™s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Elizabeth C. Bocaniciu after her mother reported her missing.

Bocaniciu, who lives in the 26200 block of North Acorn Lane in unincorporated Mundelein, was last seen around 9:30 a.m. July 1 at a friendโ€™s home in the 1300 block of North Whitewater Lane in Palatine, Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said.

Bocaniciu was seen in the Lemont area within the past 24 hours with another missing 17-year-old, who was reported missing out of Chicago, Covelli said.

Bocaniciu and the other missing girl recently colored their hair blue. Bocaniciu is described as being 5-foot-2, 170 pounds, with hazel eyes. Her natural hair color is brown.

Police are asking the public to call 911 if they see Bocaniciu or have any information of her current whereabouts.
