A man has been charged after police say he shot at a vehicle that had a mother and her children inside it in Zion last Friday.
Brandon L. Gully, 32, of Zion, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
The Zion Police Department responded to a call at 8 p.m. Friday about a man shooting at a vehicle occupied by a woman and her children in the 2200 block of Joanna Avenue.
“Officers quickly responded and located a subject matching the description of the offender. The suspect ran and the officers chased after him,” the Zion Police Department said in a statement.
During the chase, a police officer saw Gully toss a revolver to the ground. Gully was taken into custody after being located in the 2300 block of Joppa Avenue. The revolver was also located and recovered.
No one was injured during the shooting, police said. Gully was taken to bond court on Saturday and his bond was set at $100,000.
Gully remains held in the Lake County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court next on August 13.
