An employee of Domino’s Pizza in Beach Park has been charged after police say he stole nearly $28,000 from the restaurant.

Radley M. Kuersten, 20, of the 11500 block of North Lewis Avenue in Beach Park, has been charged with one count of theft, a Class 2 felony.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the sheriff’s office learned on Wednesday of an ongoing employee theft at the Domino’s Pizza, 38973 North Lewis Avenue in Beach Park.

Detectives learned Kuersten had been stealing cash from the restaurant for over a month, totaling around $28,000.

Kuersten was tasked with taking the daily deposits to the bank, Covelli said. Instead of taking the cash to the bank, Kuersten stole the money and kept it for himself, Covelli added.

Sheriff’s detectives were able to recover around $20,000 of the stolen cash from Kuersten’s residence.
