A man was injured but is expected to survive after he was struck by a car on Green Bay Road in Waukegan Sunday evening, police said.

Police found a man with a head injury after being struck by a southbound Chevy Cruze sedan. The collision happened south of Grand Avenue on Green Bay Road near Sheeler Avenue.

The southbound lanes of Green Bay Road were shut down from Grand Avenue to just north of Brookeside Avenue while the Waukegan Police Department’s Traffic Division investigated the crash.

It is unknown if any citations were issued by police. The Waukegan Police Department did not respond to requests for information Monday afternoon.
