An Illinois State Trooper and another person were hospitalized with minor injuries Tuesday morning after a three-vehicle crash in Deerfield, officials said.

The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Department and Deerfield Police Department responded around 9:24 a.m. Tuesday to Deerfield Road and Warrington Road for a three-vehicle crash.

Illinois State Police Spokeswoman Elizabeth Clausing said that a preliminary investigation shows that an Illinois State Police Trooper was traveling westbound on Deerfield Road through the intersection of Warrington Road.

The trooper’s marked squad car was struck by a blue Dodge Durango, which was turning onto Warrington Road from Deerfield Road, Clausing said. The squad car then struck a white Toyota minivan that was at the stop sign on southbound Warrington Road at Deerfield Road.

The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Department transported the trooper and the woman driving the Toyota minivan to a local hospital with minor injuries.
