A Park City man has been charged after police say he burglarized a Gurnee home after kicking open the front door earlier this month.

Lawrence K. Starks, 51, of Park City, was charged with one count of residential burglary, which is a Class 1 felony.

The Gurnee Police Department responded to the 500 block of Belle Plaine Avenue on July 10 around 12:45 p.m. for a report of a residential burglary.

Gurnee Police Spokeswoman Shawn Gaylor said that the front door of the home had been kicked open and witnesses reported seeing a man running from the house before police arrived.

“During the investigation, detectives were able to obtain images of the suspect and his vehicle. With the assistance of the Park City Police Department, Starks was identified as the suspect in this case,” Gaylor said in a statement.
