A 23-year-old man died Saturday evening after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV near Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, authorities said.

Jaskaran Singh, 23, of Gurnee, was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville around 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper said.

The Gurnee Police Department and Gurnee Fire Department responded around 5:15 p.m. to Grand Avenue and Lawson Boulevard for a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries.

Gurnee Police Department Spokeswoman Shawn Gaylor said that the motorcycle, driven by Singh, was traveling westbound on Grand Avenue.

An SUV traveling eastbound on Grand Avenue tried turning left to go north on Lawson Boulevard when it struck the motorcycle, Gaylor said. Paramedics transported Singh to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County was called to the scene to investigate the crash, which closed Lawson Boulevard for several hours.

An autopsy conducted by the Lake County Coroner’s Office confirmed Singh died from multiple blunt force trauma injuries from the collision, Cooper said. Singh’s organs were donated to the Gift of Hope, which is a non-profit organ procurement organization that coordinates organ and tissue donation.

Visitation and funeral services for Singh took place on Wednesday at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in Grayslake.

The crash remains under investigation by the Gurnee Police Department and Lake County MCAT.
