The car of a 20-year-old Hebron man that went missing on Tuesday was found abandoned at a park in McHenry Saturday evening, the man’s family said.
John Bicek, 20, of Hebron, was last seen around 8 a.m. Tuesday leaving his job at Love’s Travel Stop, 201 Love’s Crossing in Hampshire.
Bicek’s family said his phone signal was tracked to a subdivision behind Fort McHenry Park, which is off of Route 120 along Front Royal Drive in McHenry, around 6 p.m. Saturday.
His vehicle was found abandoned in the back of the Fort McHenry Park parking lot but his phone was not found. A Burger King receipt from 8:02 a.m. Friday was located in his vehicle.
A friend of Bicek said that he does not drink or do drugs and that he has not gone missing before. Bicek is described as being 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds.
Police have not officially released any information about the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the McHenry Police Department at 815-363-2200.
