Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Hebron man whose vehicle was found abandoned at a park in McHenry.
John Bicek, 20, of Hebron, was last seen around 8 a.m. July 30 leaving his job at Love’s Travel Stop, 201 Love’s Crossing in Hampshire. Bicek’s family reported him missing to the McHenry Police Department on Saturday.
The man’s family said they tracked his phone signal to a subdivision behind Fort McHenry Park, 4301 West Front Royal Drive in McHenry, around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Bicek’s family then found the man’s vehicle abandoned in the back of the parking lot of the park but were unable to find his phone. A Burger King receipt from 8:02 a.m. Friday was located inside his vehicle.
The family called police and filed a missing persons report after finding his vehicle. Police say he was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black utility pants. He is described as being 5-foot-8, 200 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and wears prescription glasses.
A friend of Bicek said that he does not drink or do drugs and that he has not gone missing before.
