An 86-year-old woman that went missing Tuesday and possibly has dementia has been located safe, police and her family said.

Grace Koath, 86, was last seen by her family at her residence in Algonquin around 4 p.m. Tuesday. She had not returned home and was not in contact with her family.

Koath is believed to be driving a dark navy blue 2008 Saturn Vue with Illinois license plate DU6218.

She is described as being 5-foot-2, 140 pounds, with blue eyes, gray hair and has a fair complexion, police said. She is known to frequent the Carpentersville or West Dundee area.

The Algonquin Police Department said that Koath was last seen in a small town northeast of Janesville, Wisconsin around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday when she used her debit card at a convenience store.

According to CBS58, Koath asked the clerk for directions to Edgerton, Wisconsin. Algonquin police said that Koath is believed to be in the beginning stage of dementia and therefore may be unaware of where she is.

Her family said she had been located safe Wednesday afternoon.
