A 35-year-old Woodstock woman was sentenced to 9 years in prison for selling almost 200 grams of cocaine, prosecutors said.
Daisy R. Cazares, 35, of Woodstock, was arrested on March 21, 2018, after members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force received numerous complaints of drug sales from a house in the 900 block of Quill Lane in Woodstock.
Police seized $14,030 in cash, 197.8 grams of cocaine, packaging materials and digital scales during the investigation, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said.
Cazares was charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office said that Cazares sold 57 grams of cocaine in Woodstock on December 15, 2017, and sold 140.8 grams of cocaine in Woodstock on January 4, 2018.
Cazares pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of cocaine between 15-100 grams during a plea deal before Judge Robert Wilbrandt. She was then sentenced to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The case was investigated by members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Brette Dunbar of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
