Police are investigating after a 28-year-old man was stabbed multiple times early Monday morning in Marengo.

The Marengo Police Department said that officers were flagged down near East Grant Highway and Prospect Street around 2 a.m. Monday regarding a person stabbed.

Police found a 28-year-old man with multiple stab wounds in the 600 block of East Grant Highway. Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Marengo Police Department said that they are actively investigating the incident and no further details are available.

Charges have not yet been filed and police said the stabbing was not random.
