Two people were reportedly seriously injured after a car traveling at a high speed rolled over into an apartment building, causing heavy damage in Round Lake Beach Saturday evening.

The Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District and Round Lake Beach Police Department responded around 7:35 p.m. Saturday to the 1500 block of West Crystal Rock Court for a report of a rollover crash.

Fire crews arrived and found a 2006 Pontiac G6 that had reportedly rolled over and struck the apartment building on the corner of West Clear Water Circle and Long Lake Drive. The building and the car sustained heavy damage.

Two people inside the vehicle had to be extricated by firefighters. They were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses reported that paramedics were performing CPR on both of the victims before they were put into ambulances.

The Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was activated to bring structural collapse technicians from numerous fire department to the scene.

Police have not said how the crash happened or released official conditions on the victims.
