A 36-year-old Marengo man was hospitalized and later charged with DUI, which is his fourth, after he crashed his motorcycle in Marengo Saturday evening, police said.
Charles R. See, 36, of the 200 block of North Ford Street in Marengo, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class A misdemeanor, and driving while license revoked, also a Class A misdemeanor.
The Marengo Police Department and Marengo Fire and Rescue responded around 8:45 p.m. Saturday to the 500 block of West Grant Highway for a report of a single motorcycle crash.
A witness told police that the motorcycle rider, later identified as See, hit the curb and caused the man to lose control.
Police found the motorcycle in front of Marengo Greenhouse and Florist, 505 West Grant Highway and later found See in the backyard of a house in the 400 block of West Grant Highway.
See was evaluated and transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital for treatment.
The man was also cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. The Marengo Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
See was arrested in July 2015 after he caused a crash that left a 5-year-boy with serious injuries in Crystal Lake. See was under the influence of heroin at the time of that crash and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years of probation, court records show.
