An 81-year-old Woodstock woman died days after she was struck by a car in Bull Valley last week, the medical examiner said.

Woodstock Fire and Rescue and the Bull Valley Police Department responded around 5:25 p.m. August 26 to Fleming Road and Bull Valley Road for a report of a person struck by a vehicle.

Paramedics found an 81-year-old woman, identified as Lynn M. Pensinger, with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle. A Flight For Life medical helicopter was requested to the scene but did not respond due to weather conditions.

Pensinger was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital and later transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said the woman died Sunday afternoon at the hospital.

An autopsy confirmed Pensinger died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled an accident.
