A 17-year-old Mundelein girl who went missing Monday was found Friday evening in California and her ex-boyfriend was arrested by police.
Alexa Rodriguez, 17, of Mundelein, was last seen on Monday and her dark blue 2011 Chevrolet Impala, which has an Illinois license plate and a light blue bumper, is also missing, according to her family.
A missing persons report was filed with the Mundelein Police Department, a law enforcement official confirmed. The girl’s family said that they fear she has been taken against her will by her ex-boyfriend, who she has a restraining order against.
“There has been domestic violence in the past [with her ex-boyfriend]. She is only 17. She is still a child please help!” a missing persons flyer said.
The flyer also said that the girl may have possibly been taken across the country to California, where the Los Angeles Police Department later located the girl on Friday and also arrested her ex-boyfriend, her family said.
