A 38-year-old man, who is a father of three kids, died after he was beaten and then run over by a car twice in North Chicago Saturday evening.

Brian “Juvy” Wilson, 38, of North Chicago, was killed Saturday evening following a confrontation with his girlfriend’s ex-husband, his family said.

The incident occurred near 10th Street and Jackson Street in North Chicago, which is on the border of Waukegan, around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Wilson’s family told ABC-7 News that the 38-year-old man was in his car at the Citgo gas station when a man followed him there and started beating him. Wilson got out of the car and the man ran Wilson over with a car twice.

“The man spinned around when my son got out of the car, twice. Ran my son over like a piece of rag or a dog,” Wilson’s mother, Nancy Lucas, told WGN-9 News.

Wilson’s girlfriend, Laquitta York, told WGN that her ex-husband was the one responsible for the killing, “…he had every intention of killing that man. Every intention,” she said.

“My brother is gone, my everything is gone; my heart, it hurts right now. We just want justice,” Wilson’s brother, Donell Devost told WGN.

A video posted on social media shows police arriving at the scene and Wilson receiving CPR from someone.

A makeshift memorial was setup at the scene where Wilson was murdered. Wilson’s nickname, “Juvy,” was spelled out in candles on the sidewalk where his family and friends gathered Sunday.

The North Chicago Police Department has not released any information about the investigation.
