The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a 43-year-old Harvard man killed after crashing his motorcycle in Wonder Lake Wednesday evening.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Wonder Lake Fire Protection District responded around 7:39 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Hancock Drive and East Lake Shore Drive in Wonder Lake for a report of a motorcycle crash.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that a preliminary investigation shows that a 2001 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle was traveling westbound on Hancock Drive.
The driver, Jesse G. Rodriguez, 43, of Harvard, lost control of the motorcycle and drove off of the road onto the unpaved median at the intersection, police and the coroner’s office said.
Rodriguez, who was the only person involved in the crash, was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, the sheriff’s office said.
Autopsy and toxicology results are pending. The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
