No one was injured after a fire erupted in an attached garage Wednesday evening in Woodstock which left the home uninhabitable, fire officials said.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 5:41 p.m. to the 800 block of West Avenue for a report of a structure fire. One person escaped the fire without injury prior to the arrival of the fire department.
Fire crews arrived and found smoke and flames showing from a two-car garage attached to a one-story residence. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which had spread to the attic above the garage, fire officials said.
Firefighters from Wonder Lake, Huntley, Marengo, Harvard and Union assisted Woodstock during the call.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire investigators with the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.
