The Crystal Lake Police Department and Crystal Lake Fire-Rescue responded around 12:18 a.m. Thursday to Living Waters Lutheran Church, 1808 Miller Road, for a report of a vehicle that had been driven into the building.

The church was unoccupied at the time of the crash and a witness told police that the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, walked away from the scene before police arrived.

Officers located the driver, identified as Lang, in the 1600 block of Autumncrest Drive approximately 30 minutes later, Kotlowski said.

Lang was uninjured and refused medical treatment. Lang was also issued traffic citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid a traffic crash and disobeying a stop sign in addition to his charges.

He posted the required bond and was released from police custody, Kotlowski said.
