The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating after a 52-year-old man was stabbed multiple times at a Buffalo Grove apartment building Saturday evening.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department and Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded around 11 p.m. Saturday to an apartment building on Trace Drive off of Dundee Road for a report of a person stabbed.
Officers found a 52-year-old man who had been cut several times and was bleeding heavily. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he was treated and released on Sunday. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The offender, who police said knew the victim, fled the scene before officers arrived.
“Our agency, along with the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, and LCMCTF worked diligently to provide safety and security to all those involved. I would like to extend my gratitude to those who responded and performed their duties at the highest levels,” Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens said.
Casstevens added that the stabbing was targeted and isolated, and there is no threat to the community.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force and Buffalo Grove Police Department.
