Police are searching for a shooter that fatally shot a couple in their 60s near a vehicle in a Buffalo Grove parking garage late Sunday evening.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department responded around 11:30 p.m. Sunday to 150 Lake Boulevard. A resident called 911 and reported they found two people unresponsive near a vehicle with blood on the ground.
Officers arrived and found a 69-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman who had been shot. Both were unable to be revived and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and the names of the victims are not being released pending notification to their next-of-kin, police said.
The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is assisting in the investigation. Police believe the shooter is a male white, possibly in his 60s, wearing dark clothing, a dark jacket and dark baseball-style hat.
“Investigators are working to identify the offender and urge anyone with any information pertaining to this event to contact Buffalo Grove Police Investigators at 847-459-2560,” Buffalo Grove Deputy Police Chief Michael Szos said in a statement.
