Police are investigating a shooting in a Zion apartment complex parking lot over the weekend that left a man with a gunshot wound to both of his legs.

The Zion Police Department responded around 2:45 a.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired at the Woodstone Apartments in the 1600 block of Lorelei Avenue.

Multiple people called 911 after hearing shots fired, the Zion Police Department said. Officers were able to recover seven 9mm casings that were fired in the parking lot.

Police said that a 27-year-old Zion man showed up at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan a short time later seeking treatment for gunshot wounds to his legs.

One bullet struck each leg and hospital staff told police his injuries were non-life-threatening.
