Anatoliy Ermak, 64, is wanted in connection with the double homicide of a couple in Buffalo Grove, police said.

Buffalo Grove police say that 64-year-old Anatoliy Ermak is wanted in connection with fatally shooting a husband and wife multiple times each as they exited their vehicle in a ‘targeted’ attack.

Buffalo Grove Deputy Police Chief Michael Szos publicly identified Ermak late Monday evening and said that the man, who is considered armed and dangerous, may be driving a white Nissan Versa hatchback with Florida license plate KCFK75.

A resident at the Cambridge on the Lake condominium complex, located at 150 Lake Boulevard in Buffalo Grove, called 911 around 11:30 p.m. Sunday after finding two people unresponsive near a vehicle with blood around it.

Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens said that officers arrived and found a 69-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman who had been shot in the underground parking garage.

Both were unable to be revived after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene around 11:55 p.m.

Casstevens said that the victims were husband and wife and lived at the condominium complex.

“Surveillance video from the facility showed the two victims arriving in the parking garage and exiting their vehicle at approximately 8:15 p.m. A male suspect then approached the two victims on foot and shot each of them multiple times. The suspect then exited the parking garage on foot,” Casstevens said.

“We believe the victims in this case were specifically targeted and we do not believe there is further danger to other residents,” Casstevens said. The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is assisting the Buffalo Grove Police Department in the investigation.

Casstevens would not specify why investigators believe the couple was targeted but said that the shooter, later identified as Ermak, and the couple engaged in a brief conversation prior to the shooting.

The parking garage is a secure area that only residents have access to and there was no sign of forced entry to it, Casstevens said, adding that the suspect entered the garage on foot behind the couple’s vehicle as it pulled in.

Anyone who has information on Ermak’s location is asked to call Buffalo Grove Police Investigators at 847-459-2560 or Lake County Crime Stoppers at 847-662-2222 for those who wish to remain anonymous.
