A man has been arrested after a woman was held against her will, beaten, and repeatedly sexually assaulted for hours at a Round Lake Park home, police said.
Salvador Pacheco-Valdez, 28 of the 400 block of Bellevue Drive in Round Lake Park, was charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated domestic battery.
The Round Lake Park Police Department was notified around 8:16 p.m. Saturday of a possible domestic violence victim at Northwestern Medicine Emergency Center Grayslake.
A 28-year-old woman told police officers that she was beaten and sexually assaulted by a man at a house in the 400 block of Bellevue Drive in Round Lake Park.
“The victim reported that she had been held against her will for several hours where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted and beaten,” Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko said.
The Round Lake Park Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Pacheco-Valdez’s residence on Sunday.
An arrest warrant was issued on Monday for Pacheco-Valdez, who was immediately taken into custody. Pacheco-Valdez is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
The victim has since been treated and released, Filenko said, adding “It’s still difficult to comprehend what one human being is capable of doing to another.”
