A Woodstock man has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl.
Daniel W. Pollet, 37, of the 1400 block of Commons Drive in Woodstock, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse during a negotiated plea deal.
The Woodstock Police Department launched an investigation into Pollet after Centegra Hospital in Huntley notified them on December 4, 2017.
Prosecutors said that the victims were 6 and 9 years old at the time of the abuse. Pollet was not related to either victim but was known to the families of the victims.
In addition to his prison sentence, Pollet was ordered by McHenry County Judge Robert Wilbrandt to pay $5,000 restitution to the victims and register as a sex offender for life upon his release.
He is also required to pay $2,600 in court costs.
The case was investigated by members of the Woodstock Police Department and prosecuted by Sharyl Eisenstein and Mary Ann Scholl of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
