Frank Hyden, 89, of Crystal Lake, was found early Saturday morning after being reported missing on Thursday.

An 89-year-old Crystal Lake man who never showed up to his family’s home on Thanksgiving was found driving his vehicle in Lake in the Hills early Saturday morning.

Frank Hyden, 89, was reported missing late Thursday evening by family, who told police that they last spoke to him around 5:30 p.m. that day while he was at his home in Crystal Lake.

Crystal Lake police believed that Hyden became lost on his way to his family’s home in Woodstock. A Lake in the Hills police officer spotted Hyden’s 2015 Chevrolet Spark early Saturday morning in Lake in the Hills.

Hyden was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation and the Silver Alert issued through the Illinois State Police was cancelled.

Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Derek Hyrkas thanked the public for spreading the missing persons alert.
