A person of interest is in custody for the homicide of a woman who was found bleeding and unresponsive inside a Park City residence early Tuesday morning, police said.

The Park City Police Department and Gurnee Fire Department responded around 12:35 a.m. Tuesday to the 3100 block of 7th Street.

Park City Police Chief Walter Holderbaum said that a 911 caller reported that their roommate had been found unresponsive and bleeding on the floor inside a mobile home.

Officers learned that the woman’s vehicle was missing from the driveway. Police later located the car, with a person of interest inside, at a gas station near Green Bay Road and Sunset Avenue in Waukegan, Holderbaum said.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the Park City residence and an autopsy was conducted Tuesday on the woman. Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper was not immediately available for comment Tuesday afternoon on the autopsy results.
