A Dunkin’ Donuts employee was hospitalized after her co-worker pulled a knife on her and cut her at a Dunkin’ Donuts shop in Libertyville, police said.

Melissa O. Goodwin, 31, of the 300 block of West Winchester Road in Libertyville, was charged with one count of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, theft less than $500, battery, obstructing identification and driving on a revoked license.

The Libertyville Police Department responded around 8:32 a.m. November 28 to Dunkin’ Donuts, 119 North Milwaukee Avenue, for a 911 call of a battery in progress with a knife.

Officers arrived and saw a female armed with a knife holding onto another female in the doorway. Officers ordered the woman to drop the knife and back away from the other woman, Libertyville Police Department Sgt. Edward Swider said.

One of the women, identified as Goodwin, was armed with a pocket knife and had cut the other woman on her arms and lower back, Swider said.

Goodwin was taken into custody and remains held in the Lake County Jail on a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court again on December 17.
