A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under 13 for several months, McHenry County prosecutors said.

David L. Freeman, 29, of Bloomington, pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and in exchange prosecutors dismissed three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13.

McHenry County Judge Robert Wilbrandt sentenced Freeman on Monday to 11 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years to natural life of mandatory supervised release.

Prosecutors said that the assaults of a minor victim under 13 years old took place between September 2016 and February 2017.

Freeman must serve 85 percent of the sentence and will not receive any day-for-day credit. He will have to register as a lifetime sex offender upon his release.
