A 37-year-old McHenry man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under 13 for over half a year, prosecutors said.

Lorentino Martinez-Tejeda, 37, of McHenry, pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and in exchange prosecutors dismissed one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13.

McHenry County Judge Robert Wilbrandt sentenced Martinez-Tejeda on Friday to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years to natural life of mandatory supervised release.

Prosecutors said that the assaults of a minor victim under 13 years old took place between November 2017 and August 2018.

Martinez-Tejeda must serve 85 percent of the sentence and will not receive any day-for-day credit. He will have to register as a lifetime sex offender upon his release.
