A Spring Grove woman faces charges for allegedly stealing more than $135,000 from her employer in Gilberts, prosecutors said.

Jennifer L. Bridgeman, 39, of the 27900 block of West Greenwood Avenue in unincorporated Spring Grove, was charged with six counts of felony forgery and two counts of felony theft.

Kane County prosecutors said Bridgeman worked as a secretary for a business, whose name was not released, between 2016 and 2019 in Gilberts. She allegedly stole at least $135,085 by writing company checks to herself and forging the owner’s signature, prosecutors said.

Kane County Associate Judge Salvatore LoPiccolo issued an arrest warrant for Bridgeman’s arrest and set her bond at $50,000.

Bridgeman turned herself in to the Huntley Police Department on Friday and was released after she posted the $5,000 bail. Her next court appearance was set for January 3 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
