Police are searching for a man who reportedly attempted to lure a girl, who was waiting at her bus stop, into his vehicle on Monday in Crystal Lake.
The Crystal Lake Police Department said that the incident occurred around 7 a.m. Monday while the juvenile was waiting for her school bus near Virginia Road and Darlington Lane.
An unknown white male approached in a vehicle and told the juvenile to get in, according to Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Derek Hyrkas.
The girl ran from the scene and reported the incident to an adult, Hyrkas said.
The man was described as having balding and being in his 30s, wearing a black sweatshirt, gray pants and yellow square-rimmed glasses. He was driving a red sedan with tinted windows.
The juvenile told police that the same man approached her two other times within the past year under similar circumstances, but in those he was driving a white sedan, Hyrkas said.
The incident remains under investigation by Crystal Lake detectives, who are seeking the publicโs assistance in identifying the man.
