No one was injured after a fire broke out at a home in Gages Lake Tuesday morning and caused approximately $100,000 in damage, fire officials said.
The Grayslake Fire Department responded around 11:35 a.m. Tuesday to the 33600 block of North Gages Lake Drive in Gages Lake, which is east of Grayslake, for a report of a structure fire.
Fire crews arrived and found smoke coming from the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
No one was home at the time and there were no injuries to firefighters, according to the Grayslake Fire Department Battalion Chief James Weidman. The building department and fire investigators responded to the scene.
Grayslake firefighters were assisted by firefighters from Gurnee, Antioch, Beach Park, Newport, Lake Zurich and Wauconda. Damage to the home and contents is estimated at approximately $100,000, Weidman said.
